A last minute call up and a new experience

Less than one week before the first round of the 2019 series Joe was asked to compete for Carlin in British F4. Having only driven an F4 car for a couple of days before it was a surprise to many that he took pole on his maiden weekend at Brand Hatch!

A CRAZY EXPERIENCE!

The first two rounds were a crazy experience and great fun with Donington a weekend where Turney really turned some heads. He was denied by a red flag in the second race and contact in the final, a real shame after a great race, but that's motorsport! After the second round he struggled for pace but the experience is one he was really grateful to have.

Joe made a decision to focus on the commitment he had made to the Tony Kart Racing Team and did not compete in the second half of the season instead racing in Europe. He is grateful to the Carlin team and WH Sports Group for the invitation to race for them.

HIGHLIGHTS

Donington - round two, a track Turney had never been to even as a spectator. He charged through the field into the lead, he was passed going into the final lap and gave space knowing where he would have the pace to pass again but his race ended in contact and what promised to be a sensational win disappeared in the gravel.

Without doubt Turney showed immense talent in single seaters with no testing time to be able to jump in the car and challenge for the win.
