Round 1 - South Garda Circuito Karting, Lonato, Italy.
18 - 21 October 2018.
Though it was Turney's first ever appearance at the South Garda Karting circuit in Lonato on the 18th, it didn't take long for him to take the track within his stride and he quickly became one of the fastest drivers on track, gaining multiple fastest laps within the races. After some fantastic battles in the heats, Turney was in a good position going into the pre-final to work on gaining a great final starting position. Unfortunately, Turney's luck for the weekend was to end at the start of the pre-final when he was smashed off the track on the first lap (click here to see the incident). The offending driver was handed a penalty for a violation of driving conduct, however the calculation of the final grids meant Turney had no chance of making his way back for a place in the final. Nonetheless, Joe rejoined the track and finished the race, making significant time up to the rest of the pack with incredible pace. Hopefully better luck in Round 2 will see Turney rewarded for his great pace and racing ability.
Comments from Forza Racing team boss Jamie Croxford -
"Despite it being his first time at the South Garda Karting circuit, one of the most difficult tracks in the world, newcomer Joe Turney became the protagonist of an ever-better weekend. After becoming familiar with the track on test days, Turney showed a pace at the level of the top 10 in the heats. Alas, a contact in Prefinal B, where he began in 9th, put him out of the match for the Final." Click here to read the full Forza Racing report.
Round 2 - International Circuit 7 Laghi, Castelletto di Branduzzo, Italy.
8 - 11 November 2018.
The second round of the WSK Final Cup at the 7 Laghi International Circuit in Castelletto di Branduzzo started with a promising qualifying for Turney, finishing 4th in his group and 8th overall - putting him on grid 4 for his qualifying heats. In his first heat, Turney made a move for 1st place but a defensive position of the kart in front and a wet area of track conspired against him resulting in a DNF result.
Keen to fight back on day two, facing constantly changing track conditions, Turney finished 5th in his second heat and 4th in his third (with a front fairing penalty demoting him to 6th place).
Finals day brought more stable weather condition and having started 9th for the pre-final Turney battled his way to 5th place - repeatedly setting fastest sectors and taking fastest lap, showing that he was going to be one to beat in the final. Another grid 9 starting position for the 20-lap final gave Turney a great opportunity to carve his way through the pack with a podium in his sight. Consistently fast laps and fantastic overtaking moves saw Turney make his way up to 3rd place, with only remaining race time standing in the way of his chances of a higher result. 3rd place is an immense result for Turney’s second ever WSK race, and first ever WSK final after his unfortunate luck in Lonato in Round 1. Joe has made his name known in the OK karting paddock after such a fantastic display of racing prowess and an exceptional result.
Round 3 - Adria International Raceway, Italy.
22 - 25 November 2018.

Champion Senior Rotax and X30 driver Joe Turney has partnered with OK racing team Forza Racing to participate in the WSK Final Cup. The three-round championship takes place throughout October and November in Lonato, Castelletto and Adria (Italy) and will be a chance for Joe to break into the world of European OK racing.
Turney's debut in the Final Cup comes after his three-week title storm when he became British Champion, BNL Champion and World Champion with his team KR Sport. Turney will remain a driver with KR Sport in the Senior Rotax and X30 classes in 2019.
Appearing with Forza Racing in the Senior OK class is a fantastic opportunity for Turney to display his immense talents in a different arena with a serial championship-winning team. Two of the three tracks in the Final Cup will be new to Turney, who hopes to make a good impression upon entering into the field.
