Joe wins both finals and takes charge of the Championship
We decided that despite the strong possibility that I could be British no1 in minimax in 2016 it would not stretch and challenge me and so I moved into Junior Rotax. This was as challenging as expected and I compounded that by deciding to go for a maiden season in Europe entering the BNL series.
One of the biggest changes in 2016 was a new 'front fairing' rule introduced by the MSA to minimise contact. Every kart, except cadets, has brackets behind the front nosecone which upon impact push the nosecone back. When you reach parc ferme if your nosecone is back you receive a mandatory and non appealable 10 place penalty. Although there are benefits it cost innocent drivers (including me) places including a win. I hope that the MSA review the mandatory penalty which at 10 seconds when you are an inncoent victim is extremely harsh.
To finish the season having won the two championships I entered is beyond anything I hoped for. I raced as well as I could sometimes causing myself more problems that I should have but I always had the best of support and back up from my team and for that I am extremely grateful.
I achieved highly on a limited budget in 2015, but I missed several key events and remain limited by finance. I am a race winner attracting publicity you could benefit from.
